The sudden kiss took Celebrian by surprise before he could pul away just as quickly, she grabbed the front of his tunic and pressed a second kiss to his lips. It was hardly the most romantic gesture of her life, but the longer she made it last, the less it become an endurance, and by the time she relaxed her hands and let him move out of his grasp she found herself wanting another.
“My lord,” she said cautiously, unsure of how Lord Tywin would react, and dipped into a low curtsey before him. Perhaps it was not her place to kiss him like that, and the gods knew she had had no desire to do so before, yet… yet was there a possibility that in the future - whether near or far - this could be more than simply a marriage of duty? But even as she stared at the ground as the thought crossed her mind, she highly doubted it, despite how much she had begun to hope.
“That is not an unreasonable request.” Tywin replied. “They ought to know where they come from, and all about their family, both sides of it.” Tywin agreed. “I will do my best to be active in their lives and promote your culture in it.” he agreed. “I do hope we are blessed with children.” he said. “I am uncertain if either of my sons will be heir to Casterly Rock.” he said. “I would like to have one that doesn’t run off and become a member of the Kingsguard, or allow himself to get the reputation of a drunken letcher.”
Celebrian looked away from him. Ah, of course. He did not wish for children, he wished for more suitable heirs. She should have expected nothing less than that, really. Sentimentality never seemed to come into her lord husband’s thinking.
“I hope so, too,” she replied after a moment, still keeping his hand in her gentle grasp. “And they shall have neither too much swordplay, nor too much wine. If we are truly blessed, they shall the hearts of my kin, and the strength of yours. I hope they bring you happiness, my lord.”
