Nolofinwe looked at her, her words were polite, but she was but polite, nothing more. She came closer but didn’t embrace him. “No, no, you did not offend me!” she said quickly, reaching out to touch her uncle’s arm automatically. “I do not seek to offend you either, my lord.”
Taking the seat he offered, she fiddled nervously with the sleeve of her dress as she debated with herself over whether she ought confide in him or not. On the one hand, he was a total stranger to her, but on the other, she knew of him and all he had done, and after all, he was her uncle by blood. “I simply… I find certain social situations and customs difficult now,” she said eventually. “The events leading up to my arrival here saw to that. I am told it will get better with time. I simply came here to meet the uncle my mother talked of - I hope I have not inconvenienced you, I can return another time if so-”
